This is one of my favorite paintings because it was my first completed project. It is a painting of the Ginkgo tree in front of the main house of the Aldridge Gardens in Hoover, Alabama. I love strolling through this beautiful garden, thinking, praying, and just appreciating the beautiful surroundings of God’s glorious garden. The title describes this tree’s anticipation of being in it’s full glory, brilliant yellow, usually in mid-October. Just as it waits for this ultimate state of being, we who are awaiting the wonderful time of being in God’s Presence eagerly await the fullness of God’s Glory being bestowed upon us.
This painting was inspired by the loving embrace I saw as one of my grand-nieces held her small cousin. These two cousins are, also, undoubtedly wrapped in the loving arms of their grandmother, sending them love from heaven.
While participating in Birmingham Ballet’s 2019 production of Swan Lake, I endeavored to bring these swans to life on a moonlit canvas.
I painted this for my nephew to remind him of this special time when he was seeking out the ideal cello which his Nana was buying for him. He played several cellos, listening for that certain sound quality and feel. Oh, that we would seek God with such keen ears and directed focus. (I am proud and thankful that he does!)
As seen in Birmingham Ballet’s 2020 production of The Sleeping Beauty, Princess Aurora is kissed on the forehead by her loving father. It is his way of expressing his everlasting love for his Beloved Rose. Witnessing this tender moment, one is remind of God’s Unconditional and Everlasting Love. He is always present to show His love and compassion as our Heavenly and Everlasting Father.
